Autumn to me has always represented impending death: Leaves are falling, the season is changing, or hope is fading.
Just like how the memories of someone slowly fade away in our minds
or their presence slowly fades away from our lives.
So to find comfort, I often reach for this oldie when autumn comes. ‘Brings good memories, bad memories, and everything in between. A bit of hope, a bit of doom, to the point where it feels like we are just spects of dust floating aimlessly in the universe with no destination or meaning.
But then suddenly this morning I realized there’s a better alternative.

I realized that there’s a Holy person who also felt somber. And it’s okay to feel somber, but this time I can do it in the presence of the Lord.
How freeing!
